EXCELLENT SOARING CONDITIONS
Seminole-Lake Gliderport is located in
Central Florida along what we consider
the Florida ridge, which has excellent
soaring year around.
The best soaring season is March
through May with cloud bases from
6000 ft. to 8000 ft. This time of the
year, 500 km tasks can easily be made
with durations as long as 7 hours.
Our winter season can also be good even
though the days are shorter. One year Clem Bowman flew a 500 km in January in his ASW 24.
Summer season is hot but soarable 
weather almost daily. Fall season
can be excellent but not as consistent
as the spring season.
