Flying gliders is a fun and cost effective way for any aspiring pilot to learn great stick and rudder skills, energy management and flying coordinated at all times. You can solo as young as 14 years old and get your license at 16. Transitioning to powered airplanes is easy.
We offer excellent instructors who can accommodate any age group, and each new pilot leaves us with skills and knowledge that is beneficial for a future in flying.
If you have previous glider time but have not been able to continue, come to Seminole-Lake and bring your logbook. We can easily help you finish up your rating.
Requirements: FOR INITIAL FAA RATING
* Minimum of 20 Instructional flights
* Minimum of 10 Solo flights
* Pass FAA Knowledge Test
* Pass FAA Check ride

Whether you are local or from out of the area, we can get your add-on rating completed in as little as 4 days! We offer a comfortable atmosphere with friendly, accommodating staff who will make sure you enjoy every moment of your training!
Our schedule is flexible to meet your needs, our examiners are always available.
Add-on glider rating counts as a flight review and no medical is required!

The FAA requires Students to register with the IACRA Program. The IACRA program is how the FAA is going to issue a Student Certificate. Those of you with a current Certificate will need to update this program. The registration is simple and can be done in roughly 10 minutes. If you need help with the registration with IACRA please feel free to reach out to us. Please follow the links below to get started with the IACRA process. After this process is complete, please bring/remember your login information and your FTN so that the CFI can check off on your IACRA registration.

Pilot Induced Oscillations (P.I.O.) Video . . . How NOT to land! A video (from Spain) of a Grob 103 sailplane landing with excess energy (speed), slightly downwind and very little airbrakes deployed. Pilot allowed the Pilot Induced Oscillations (P.I.O.) to continue.
At one point his hand appears to let go of the control stick. No wheel brake was applied.
